Currently, the researchers’ team (Balashov Oleg, Alexander Barzov, Vladimir Filatov) is actively working to create a high-tech experimental production of new types of compression garments («INTEX» brand).
Compression garments are designed to create an uneven pressure gradient that increases from the ankle to the thigh and speeds up the blood flow to the heart. This effect reduces the risk of thrombosis and improves metabolism, which, in turn, inhibits edema and prevents the development of trophic ulcers. In addition, anti-embolic stockings prevent pulmonary embolism (PE). Developers set themselves a very ambitious task – using mathematical modeling methods and applying the most modern knitting technologies and materials, to create postoperative compression garments with a new property – a universal size. All existing standards today strictly prescribe the division of compression medical products by size. |
Size | 1, S | 2, M | 3, L | 4, XL | |
Ankle circumference (b), cm | 19-22 | 22-25 | 25-28 | 29-32
Shin circumference (c), cm | 29-37 | 34-42 | 38-46 | 41-51
Upper thigh circumference (g), cm | 44-52 | 50-58 | 56-64 | 60-72
Upper thigh circumference (g) for wide thigh, cm | 47-60 | 58-68 | 65-75 | 72-85
Foot (shoe) size, female models | 35-38 | 37-39 | 38-40 | 39-41
Foot (shoe) size, male models | 37-40 | 39-42 | 41-44 | 43-46 |
The developers, based on many years of experience working with the medical and patient communities, believe that the creation of a product with a universal size of the prophylactic compression degree will help solve the most important task – to accustom people to wear compression garments at an early stage of illness and improve the culture of using compression products.
